I moved my family from Ottawa to Cypress last July, flew back to Ottawa to complete my retirement from Environment Canada and then had to wait another 4 months to obtain (the almost immediate) spousal green card.

By applying from the US Embassy in Ottawa my process was greatly accelerated.

Institutions often have lawyers who can handle the change of status of their employees.

My wife is interested in completing her college and enter nursing school.
