Moving to Houston ... have questions about neighborhoods

We are moving to Houston from Edmonton with our two children (boy age 16 and girl age 11) this coming summer 2012. We have been told that Friendswood is a wonderful family friendly community to live in with lots of amenities. Can anyone comment on this information we've been given? Thanks.

Thank you so much for your info. Yes the climate is going to be interesting. Once we get confirmation on which office my husband is with I would love some information. I will keep you posted. I am glad I found these boards.
