Canadian Club of Houston

I'm gauging interest in my ExpressVu system if someone is really interested. I just recently switched over to AT&T U-Verse. I'd had been using my ExpressVu system for almost 8 years. I loved being able to watch Canadian TV as if I was back home, especially the local channels (being from Hamilton, I'd watch the CHCH morning show every morning). It made me feel like I was still back home... until I walked out into the Houston humidity.

I have two ExpressVu 4100 receivers (not DVR) and one remote (the dog ate the other one). But any universal remote will control the 2nd receiver. Both receivers have valid SmartCards. I also have a 24" dish that goes with it (bigger than necessary, but I get nearly 100% signal strength as a result).

This is what my receivers look like. I have actually pictures on my home computer:

I can also help with aiming the dish at the satellite if necessary.

IMPORTANT!!! You will need a Canadian billing address (I used my mom's address in Hamilton). Because when you call ExpressVu to activate the system, you have to have a Canadian address. Also you cannot tell Bell that you're in the US or they will disconnect the service. The paper invoices will go to the Canadian address. As far as payment, I had them auto debit monthly on my Chase credit. Lastly whenever I wanted to order pay-per-view movies, I always used Bell's online ordering system, because the toll-free number the receiver dials to make the pay-per-view purchase cannot be accessed from the US.

I was very happy with the services, and it made me feel like I was still back home

I don't have a price in mind, I'm just gauging interest at this point. If you're interested, let me know and what you think is a fair price.

Are you able to get all the Channels?

I had talked to a guy bout doing this a while back and he said due how far South we are in Houston that some channels on some of the transponders would not come in.
Yes, some transponders are weaker than others. I'd get about 70-75% signal strength on those "weaker" transponders (compared to almost 100% on others). The larger dish helped significantly. But, even at a reduced strength of 70% it's still well above the minimum threshhold for a signal lock (50%).
