Could this Olympics be the turning point for Canada sports? What do you think were the most significant moments?

This was by far the best performance of Team Canada in any Olympics, they're #1 in my eyes, most gold.  And a pair of gold medals in Hockey to top it off! (A tear still in my eyes -sniff-)

Canada has always had great athletes but we usually lacked confidence, often faltered when it counted in the past.  Our own officials even conceded the Own the Podium campaign prematurely to the Americans.  Hopefully this Olympics will change that forever.  Hopefully, Canadian athletes will enter future competitions believing that they CAN Own the Podium.

I would be glad to send some of my hard earned but lightly taxed American money back home to Canada if I knew it would go to deserving athletes. What pride I felt, sitting at an Olympic Party in Weslaco Texas with my retired Winnipeg Winter Texan cousins and 20 of their retired Winnipeg friends cheering on the Canadian Men's Curling Team and then the Canadian Men's Hockey Team to GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!! and against the Americans in overtime no less!!!!!!! I didn't like the saying "Own the Podium." Too American for my taste and this braggy pronouncement was not well received by my American co-workers. My American co-workers were astute enough to say that doesn't sound very Canadian- and I agree. "Own the Podium" was especially ridiculed in the first week of the Olympics when Canada had some unfortunate issues underway and had not yet performed very well. At the conclusion of the Olympics I am very proud of Canada's performance as a host and competitor but leave the saying"Own the Podium" in the scrap heap and put your money and pride where your mouth is.
